Ozaukee County is located in eastern Wisconsin, along Lake Michigan. It is named for the Sac word meaning "People at the mouth of the river."
The seat is Port Washington while the largest city is Mequon. Both these are considered to be suburbs of Milwaukee.
The county borders Sheboygan, Milwaukee, Waukesha and Washington Counties.
Main highways include I-43, WI-32, WI-33, WI-57 and WI-60.
